KVK, Palem organized training programme on crop diversification & Preparedness for Yasangi crops on 24-09-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Palem along with Department of Agriculture, Nagarkurnool organized a training programme on crop diversification & Preparedness for Yasangi crops on 24.09.2021 at Rythuvedika Chandubatla cluster Vanpatla village, Nagarkurnool dist. The programme was chaired by P. Venkeshwarlu (DAO, NGKL), briefed about the crop diversification and integrated crop management technologies. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, PC, KVK, Palem presented importance of crop diversification and also stressed more alternate crops to Paddy like Greengram, Blackgram, Castor & Groundnut. To encourage the farmers to for cultivate the oil seeds and pulses by conducting large scale demonstrations Mr. Rajashekhar, SMS (Plant Protection) given presentation on promotion of integrated pest management (IPM) aspects, insisted farmers to take up the spraying operations only pest incidence is above the ETL. Mr.B.Rajashekar, SMS, (Agricultural Extension) explained about the various information sources to get timely information through AKPS, Innovative farmers network, whatsapp groups, bulletins, leaflets, information centre of KVK, Palem, press notes and new technologies demonstrations etc. Mr. K. Ramakrishna, SMS (Crop Production) presented importance of cost reduction technologies in oil seeds and pulses. In this programme Narmada, MAOs, & AEO, innovative farmers, gram sarpanch, RSS members and 72 members of the farmers were participated.
